Audience Feedback

Our audience gave some very helpful constructive criticism and praise. Some of the main pieces of praise given were:
  • Although nonlinear storyline is unconventional, it still worked well
  • Music was effective

Some of the points for improvement were:
  • Add more dialogue to make the plot line slightly clearer
  • Camera steadiness

Back in the research and planning stage, when we were devising our ideas for our opening two minutes, we we're considering whether the non-linear style storyline would work well in such a short space of time, however, after spending some time storyboarding and picturing what our final production would look like, we felt that it would work - something which our audience picked up in their comments. Also during this stage when we were looking at different styles of music, the piece that Rebecca composed really stood out to us as fitting the mood, style, and genre well. I feel that it was this music that helped to explain the non-linear style to the audience further.

Looking back on our work, I would agree with the feedback about adding more dialogue as I also feel that this would help to make the plot line more coherent. We did use a tripod were possible in the production to make it as steady as possible, however, for a select number of shots, this was unfortunately not possible - leading to some of the shots appearing shaky, if we were to remake the production I would definitely work on trying to include the tripod in every shot, to ensure that the production comes across to the audience as professional.
